Vengeance belongs only to the Lord. God has called us to forgive and love. Jesus said on the cross “Father, forgive them. They do not know what they do.” While someone is in sin, they do not know what they do for the enemy has blinded their eyes so they cannot see and their ears do not hear. It’s why Jesus has called us to pray and love. It’s different than what the world does. Father, empower us through Your love to win souls to be counted wise. Forgive me when I have taken revenge and paid someone back as if I am worthy of judging anyone. Had it not been for Your grace and mercy in my life I would be on my way to hell. Help me to love others including my enemies the way that You love me. Love covers over a multitude of sins. It’s what love did on the cross for those of us who believe. Your love covered over the multitude of our sins. Help us to be like Jesus, full of truth and grace. Help us to love our enemies for Your kingdom in Jesus name.
