LORD, you are our All-Sufficient God! In you, through you, and by you we have all that we need. With You, there is mercy, lovingkindness, and plenteous redemption! Thank you Jesus! We exalt Your Name! We join hosts of heaven and say,
“Glory to God in the highest [heaven],
And on earth peace among men with whom He is well-pleased.” (Luke 2:14) “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.” May Your mighty name be exalted on the earth over our families, our churches, our cities, our workplace, our State Capitols and our elected officials as they soon will be getting to the business of the civic affairs of the people. Grant them wisdom from above and may they work to bring about mercy, justice, and biblical, virtuous principles that will bring peace to the people that they serve. May our elected officials be born again and strengthened and encouraged in their faith as they put their hope in the Lord and turn from the fear man. May they seek the will of God as they recognize their own inadequacy, in Jesus name we pray.
Psalm 130
From the depths of despair, O Lord,
I call for your help.
2 Hear my cry, O Lord.
Pay attention to my prayer.
3 Lord, if you kept a record of our sins,
who, O Lord, could ever survive?
4 But you offer forgiveness,
that we might learn to fear you.
5 I am counting on the Lord;
yes, I am counting on him.
I have put my hope in his word.
6 I long for the Lord
more than sentries long for the dawn,
yes, more than sentries long for the dawn.
7 O Israel, hope in the Lord;
for with the Lord there is unfailing love.
His redemption overflows.
8 He himself will redeem Israel
from every kind of sin.
Thank you Jesus! We ask that your kingdom come and your will be done. Amen.
