Lord, I pray that we are prepared for this day. We must die to ourselves and our desires. We have to do what Jesus did. Isaiah said, “I am a man of unclean lips and I dwell in the midst of people of unclean lips for my eyes have seen the King.” Our righteousness is but filthy rags. The publican couldn’t even look up to heaven but cried that You would have mercy on him. Lord, we’ve lost our humility and we don’t live like we need You. We are prideful hiding behind big buildings that we call “churches” but our hearts are so far from God. You sent Jesus to die for our sin not our prosperity. We like the watered down version (NIV) version of the gospel that makes us comfortable in our sin. Open the eyes of our hearts Lord so that we can see You. Forgive us and help us Jesus. “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”
