“Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you!” Isaiah 64:1
Father, we are the work of your hand, as clay in the hands of the potter. You do as You please, but as your people we cry, “have mercy on us and do not be angry beyond measure!” The earth gives way, the mountains fall, and the waters roar, as our world is in upheaval and chaos. Your people have lost their first love, conformed to the world’s standards, practiced sexual immorality, fallen asleep, and grown lukewarm. We are unclean, and our most righteous acts are like filthy rags. We repent!! We humble ourselves before You, faithful Father, and seek Your face in the midst of these tumultuous times. As your people, we confess falling short of your glory and choose this day to resist the devil. Thank you for drawing close and for delivering us from the evil one. Thank you for the free gift of salvation given to us at the cross of Calvary, so that we may come into Your throne room and receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need. You have covered us with the blood of Jesus and clothed us in His righteousness. In the power of the Spirit, help us to live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. May we offer ourselves as a sacrifice, a pleasing aroma unto You Father God. We praise your holy name!! Amen.
