In the Morning

“In the morning O Lord, you will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.” Psalm 5:3

What incredible depth of wisdom from such a small passage!

“In the morning” is a clear call to seek God’s face first in our day, before the things of this world cloud our view. And we can be thankful God actually hears our voice anytime, everywhere, and in all circumstances. He never shuts the door to the cries of our heart.

”I will order my prayer to You.” God is a God of order (1 Cor. 14:33) and He may be revealing to us in this passage that a systematic, recurring, ordered prayer life is pleasing to Him.

If God is inspiring us to “eagerly watch”, that must mean there will be something to see! The word “eagerly” has behind it a hopeful expectation of seeing something truly amazing. Praise God we clearly see Him working every single day of our lives!

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for listening to my voice. May my prayers be ordered and honoring to You. Help me remember to watch and learn how You are working every day. Amen.
