God Revives Me!

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me.” Psalm 138:7

With 100% certainty, we know in this earthly life, we will “walk in the midst of trouble.” Trouble should not be feared, but instead, welcomed as it has the potential to refine us, bring us closer to God, allow us to use the trial to comfort others, and teach us to navigate the next trial. In God’s own words in Psalm 138:7, he promises to revive us amid the trouble! We must cling to His hope and claim this promise…every day!

With the overwhelming instability in this world and continuous escalation of evil, the enemy lurks around every corner. Satan will do everything in his power to derail, discourage, and oppress us as Christians. With God’s promise of his “hand against the wrath of my enemies”, there is no need to fear.  In Isaiah 41:10, God tells us, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

Both the passage in the Psalms and Isaiah also assure us that God’s right hand will save us. Do we truly believe God will save us? He says it over and over in Scripture. Because God’s Word is true and He says he will save us, we must believe He will! God saves us through Christ’s finished work on the cross and anyone who repents of his or her sins and accepts this gift will be saved. Oh, what comfort we find in these precious words…I am saved!

Prayer: Thank you Lord for the multitude of awe-inspiring promises found in Your Word! Allow me to have an open heart to accept the revival you promise. Thank you for protecting me from our enemies and saving me.
