“But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” John 6:50-51
Are you satisfied? Do you feel you belong? Are you connected? Our world offers endless connections via social media and bustling activities that bring us far and wide. Day after day and night after night, we have so much to do and so little time. Does it seem that we wander in an endless, dry wasteland of busyness? If you still thirst or hunger for more, will money and material things be able to satisfy?
Our Lord invites us to a special table spread for us. “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat…without money and without price. Isaiah 55:1
It is time for us to draw near to God; he has the richest of fare at no cost. He meets all our physical needs and spiritual needs. He offers true abundance, enjoyment, and satisfaction freely! The invitation to the best of the best is for you. Today, turn from that idolatry that steals your joy, destroys your resources, and abandons true relationship.
The Bread of Heaven is for all. Jesus is the living Bread that came down from heaven which a man may eat and not die. Jesus is the Bread of Heaven that gives life abundantly (John 10:10).
“Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant.” Isaiah 55:3
Prayer: Father God, thank you for your one and only Son given for us. We acknowledge Jesus, the Bread of life that satisfies us and offers spiritual freedom today and forever. Amen.
